Hold demonstrations on 20.09.2012
Give a befitting reply to the atrocious decisions of the UPA government

The UPA government wants to serve the US and the Multi National companies, rather than serving the common people of our country. That is why ruthlessly it has taken decisions to allow FDI in multi brand retail, hike the price of diesel, cut down the supply of subsidised cylinders etc. The whole country will hit back at these policies, on 20th September, 2012. The CHQ of BSNLEU has called upon to hold powerful country wide protest demonstrations on 20th September, 2012.

Hold the programme successfully.

[19.09.2012]Indore comrades create a record
The Accounts & Commercial Branch of Indore, in Madhya Pradesh Circle, has created record. This the biggest Branch Union in M.P. Circle, with 140 members. This Branch consists of a good number of lady comrades. In the Branch Conference held on 07.09.2012, a new team of office-bearers are elected. The beauty of the election is that, all the office-bearers are lady comrades. More important aspect of this election is that, the male comrades of that branch took the initiative to hold such an election. The requirement of our movement is that more and more lady comrades should be encouraged to actively participate in the union activities. The election held in the Accounts and Commercial Branch of Indore, will definitely send a positive message in this direction to the entire country. CHQ congratulates the new team of office-bearers and appreciates the good work done by our Indore comrades, especially, the District Secretary, Com. Prakash Sharma.

[28.08.2012]78.2% IDA fixation and NE 12 pay scale approved by BSNL Board
CHQ informs with great jubilation that both the 78.2% IDA fixation, as well as the NE 12 pay scale, have been approved in the Board of Directors meeting, that took place today. The 78.2% IDA fixation issue will now go for the approval of the DOT, which we will try to get as early as possible.

CHQ congratulates the entire Non-Executives and Executives of BSNL, whose unwavering preparedness to go on the indefinite strike clinched the 78.2% IDA fixation settlement. We also sincerely thank all the Directors of the BSNL Board, especially, shri R.K.Upadhyay, CMD, shri K.C.G.K.Pillai, Director (Finance) and shri A.N.Rai, Director (HR), for this approval by the Board.

Undoubtedly, the 78.2% IDA fixation is a very big achievement. Such an achievement cannot even be dreamed of in any other company, whether in Public Sector or in Private Sector, under such a deteriorating financial condition. The total unity of the Non-Executives and Executives is the basis of this achievement. Let us strengthen this unity in the days to come.

It may be recollected that ‘some of the so called trade union leaders’ criticized this settlement, and were declaring from roof- tops, that ‘Agreement on 78.2% IDA fixation’ will never be implemented, and that the Management has cheated the Forum Leaders. They stand exposed now. The employees should be cautious about such ‘elements’ in future.

[28.08.2012]Minutes of the meeting of BSNL Union and Management under the Chairmanship of CLC (C) held on 27.08.2012 <>

[27.08.2012]Outcome of the All Union meeting, convened by the CLC today, the 27.08.2012
As per the direction of the Kerala High Court, a meeting consisting of all unions as well as the BSNL management was convened today the 27.08.2012, by the CLC. The purpose of the meeting is to find out whether consensus is there for making changes to the COD (Code of Discipline) for recognizing more than one union. The meeting is attended by Shri N.K. Prasad, Chief Labour Commissioner, Dy.CLC and the ALC. BSNLEU is represented by Com. P. Abhimanyu, GS. Com. P. Abhimanyu, GS stated that changes to COD should be made to recognize more than one union, based on Proportionate Representation. He also demanded that minimum trade union facilities should also be granted to the Applicant Unions. He also demanded that in case COD can’t be modified, than BSNL should frame it’s own Recognition Rules, based on Proportionate Representation. However, no consensus was reached in the meeting, to recognize more than one union by changing the COD. At the same time, considering the demand made by majority of the unions, the CLC suggested to the BSNL Management, to initiate steps to frame it’s own Recognition Rules, based on consensus of all the unions.

[27.08.2012]Admission of observers in the 6th All India Conference – Circle and District Secretaries to note please:-
CHQ has already informed to all the District Unions regarding their eligible number of observers for participation in the 6th All India Conference to be held at Ludhiana. According to paid up quota, the total no. of delegates from all the Circles come to 1278. The Central Secretariat has decided that 50% of this no., i.e. 639, shall be the no. of observers that can be allowed for the AIC. However, the Reception Committee has received information that a total of 2600 observers are coming to the AIC. Thus, the total number of delegates and observers who are going to attend the AIC comes to 3878.

The Reception Committee has informed the CHQ, that it is totally impossible for them to arrange accommodation for such a large number of comrades. Ludhiana is not a big city. Arranging accommodation for such a large number of comrades is impossible. Hence, CHQ requests the Circle and District Secretaries kindly not to bring more number of observers than what is allotted to them and help the CHQ and Reception Committee to conduct the All India Conference in an orderly manner.

[24.08.2012]Staff Side members walk out from Designation Committee meeting
The Joint Committee for change of Designations of Non-Executives met today, the 24.08.2012. It is unfortunate that there is no progress in the discussions that took place in the last two or three meetings. The dead lock continued in today’s meeting also. Management side is going back even from whatever consensus is reached in the earlier meetings. Hence, the Staff Side members of the Committee walked out of today’s meeting. Thereafter, they met the Director (HR) and held a discussion. Director (HR) assured that he would look into the matter and do the needful.
